Which plants are best for LECA?
Leca pebbles create air gaps in the plant pot that allow roots to breathe. This is especially beneficial to epiphytes like orchids or Hemi epiphytic like Monsteras. Their roots MUST have a lot of oxygen. Epiphytes are called air plants.
Do ferns do well in clay pots?
Soil Mix and Containers
Adding coarse sand or perlite will allow water to flow through freely. Both plastic and clay pots are suitable for ferns, with those in plastic pots requiring less frequent watering. Pots should be large enough to accommodate the roots with an extra inch of space for further growth.
Can all plants thrive in LECA?
Leca balls allow for more aeration as the air pockets between the clay balls allow more oxygen to reach the plant’s roots. This prevents a well-known gardening disaster: root rot. Leca pebbles can be used for almost every kind of plant. Many gardeners know the proper plant mix is hard to create!
